This 12-hour shutdown is necessary to connect six new cooling towers to the main piping lines, enhancing the terminal's cooling efficiency, the agency said in a statement on Sunday.
During this period, only fans and blowers will operate to ensure air circulation, which may not provide optimal comfort, the MIAA warned.
To mitigate discomfort, stand-alone air conditioning units will be deployed in various areas for spot cooling.
The affected areas include check-in counters, immigration, security checks, baggage carousels, and the arrival lobby.
Approximately 27,000 passengers on 117 flights may experience reduced air circulation.
MIAA general manager Eric Jose Ines has requested understanding and cooperation from all airport users, emphasizing that the upgrades will ensure a more pleasant experience for all.
