This addition, which landed in Manila on Dec. 24, increases the carrier’s fleet to 91 aircraft, underscoring a year marked by significant growth in operational capacity and network expansion, the Gokongwei family-controlled airline said in a statement on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024.
The 236-seater A321neo, known for its fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions, aligns with Cebu Pacific’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the company said.
Compared to previous models, these aircraft burn 15 percent less fuel per flight and produce less noise, reducing their environmental impact.
“The arrival of this new aircraft reinforces our readiness to meet the rising travel demand and our commitment to enhancing connectivity for our passengers in 2025 and beyond,” Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
Last October, Cebu Pacific announced a groundbreaking purchase agreement with Airbus and Pratt & Whitney for up to 152 A321neo aircraft. Valued at approximately $24 billion or P1.4 trillion, this deal is the largest in Philippine aviation history and reinforces the airline’s position as a leader in the industry.
Cebu Pacific operates one of the youngest fleets globally, comprising 10 Airbus A330s, 40 Airbus A320s, 26 Airbus A321s, and 15 ATR turboprops.
This diversified fleet enables the airline to maintain the widest domestic network in the Philippines while positioning itself for future growth and increased connectivity.
