  • Partnership with CAE renewed with long-term training deal
  • Simulator to support growing demand for widebody pilots

Cebu Pacific is expanding its pilot training infrastructure through an extended partnership with Canadian aviation training provider CAE, anchored on the deployment of a full-flight Airbus A330neo simulator by December 2026 at their joint training facility in Clark.

Cebu Pacific's COO is preparing the pipeline of new pilots for the airline's incoming jets.

The move reflects the airline’s continued investment in widebody operations, with Cebu Pacific currently operating Asia’s largest A330neo fleet, totaling 11 aircraft and more deliveries on the way.

“Being the largest operator of the A330neo in Asia, this new simulator will provide additional training capacity and heighten the safe operation of this state-of-the-art aircraft,” said Javier Massot, Cebu Pacific’s chief operations officer. “This expansion will help meet the growing demand for pilot training as Cebu Pacific continues to grow its network and widebody fleet.”

Why it matters

With Asia-Pacific demand for aviation professionals rising, the A330neo simulator boosts Cebu Pacific’s in-house capabilities to meet training needs without depending on overseas facilities.

The Clark center currently houses simulators for the Airbus A320 and ATR 72-600. The A330neo simulator will be the first widebody FFS at the site.

The other side

For CAE, the partnership secures a long-term training pipeline in the Philippines.

“The deployment of this new A330neo simulator strengthens our shared commitment to delivering world-class pilot training,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, division president for commercial aviation at CAE. “We are happy to be expanding our longstanding partnership with Cebu Pacific.”

What’s next

The A330neo FFS is slated to be ready for training by December 2026. It will support Cebu Pacific’s transition into a more fuel-efficient, long-haul capable fleet as it eyes further regional and global expansion.
