Global aviation leader Emirates is setting its sights on Filipino aircraft engineers and technicians as it continues a massive worldwide recruitment campaign.

The airline will hold information sessions in Manila on Oct. 14 and 15, inviting both experienced and aspiring aircraft technicians to explore rewarding careers in Dubai.

Expanding a world-class workforce

The initiative is part of the Emirates Group’s plan to hire 17,300 professionals across 350 roles this fiscal year — a move designed to strengthen its technical operations and sustain world-class maintenance standards.

The Philippines, known for its skilled aviation workforce, is among the key markets being tapped in this global talent drive.

During the Manila roadshow, Emirates recruiters will share details about available positions, salary and benefits packages, and life in Dubai. Attendees will also have the chance to interact directly with Emirates’ engineers and managers, gaining valuable insights into the company’s culture and career development pathways.

A career built for the future

In a statement, Emirates Philippines country manager Saeed Abdulla Miran said joining Emirates means being part of a pioneering team that maintains the world’s largest fleet of widebody aircraft.

“Our engineers enjoy a rewarding career in Dubai, working with a dynamic, multicultural team. We’ve invested $950 million to build a new, ultra-modern engineering facility at Dubai World Central,” Miran said.

“Those who join will help shape the future of commercial aviation through innovation and excellence.”

Construction of Phase 1 of the new engineering complex began in 2024 and is expected to finish in 2027. Spanning one million square meters, the facility will handle every aspect of aircraft maintenance — from routine checks and cabin fit-outs to engine repair and aircraft conversions. It’s envisioned as a center of excellence for aviation engineering in the Middle East.

Inside Emirates engineering

Emirates Engineering, approved under GCAA CAR V standards, operates one of the world’s most advanced maintenance facilities. It supports Emirates’ Airbus and Boeing fleet as well as aircraft from over 30 other airlines through third-party maintenance contracts.

Aircraft Technicians at Emirates perform maintenance under the supervision of licensed engineers. Applicants must hold an approved apprenticeship in commercial aircraft maintenance or its equivalent, plus a minimum of five years of experience.

Life and benefits in Dubai

Successful candidates will enjoy a tax-free salary, profit share eligibility, comprehensive medical and life insurance, education allowance, and generous flight benefits for themselves, family, and friends. They’ll also receive an Emirates Platinum Card, unlocking exclusive discounts at global retail, hospitality, and leisure establishments. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
