Under the partnership, Airbus and Indiana Aerospace University will work together to enhance training for aspiring aircraft engineers and mechanics, helping prepare them for the evolving demands of the global aviation industry.
The initiative also underscores Airbus’ commitment to strengthening the Philippines’ aviation ecosystem by developing local capabilities and a future-ready workforce.
Preparing future talent
Indiana Aerospace University plans to integrate the ACT for Academy solution into its curriculum by the second quarter of 2026. Over a five-year period, the programme is expected to benefit up to 5,000 students.
The enhanced curriculum will incorporate Airbus-developed digital learning tools, including maintenance training software and instructional modules covering modern aircraft technologies, maintenance procedures, and industry best practices.
Industry-aligned training
“Partnering with Airbus allows us to elevate our training programmes by aligning them more closely with real-world operational requirements,” said Dr. Harold E. Toring, CEO of Indiana Aerospace University, said in a statement.
He added that access to Airbus-developed tools will give students practical exposure to modern aircraft maintenance environments, enabling a smoother and more confident transition into the workforce.
Building skills pipeline
Anand Stanley, president of Airbus Asia-Pacific, said developing skilled aviation professionals is critical to sustaining long-term industry growth.
“Our collaboration with Indiana Aerospace University reflects Airbus’ continued focus on working with academic institutions to strengthen technical competencies, support national education objectives, and build a resilient talent pipeline across the region,” Stanley said. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
