The new chief of Emirates’ cargo business in the Philippines will focus on helping small businesses grow in the postpandemic economy, the UAE-based airline said in a statement.

The Middle Eastern carrier recently  appointed Jassem Al Mulla as its new cargo manager for the Philippines.

In his new role, Jassem will enhance Emirates' cargo operations, focusing on boosting the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sectors.

This initiative aims to fuel the local economy by providing vital support to small businesses, the airline said.

Jassem brings extensive experience from his previous roles within Emirates, including his contributions to developing the Emirates Group Safety application.

His leadership in cargo management in Morocco and Jordan highlights his capability to drive success in challenging markets, the company added.

Jassem expressed enthusiasm about his new position, saying, "it is an exciting time for cargo in the Philippines. With the country’s ongoing investment in improving the logistics infrastructure along with the growing demand for local exports, we are seeing an increased demand for specialized air cargo services and connectivity to key markets”

The Philippines is a crucial market for Emirates SkyCargo, transporting key commodities like fresh produce, garments, and electronics, thereby contributing significantly to the nation's economic growth.
