ABS-CBN Corp. has earned a place among Asia-Pacific's best employers, giving the Lopez-led media giant another bright spot as it works to rebuild its business more than six years after losing its broadcast franchise.

The company ranked 338th in TIME and Statista's Best Employers of 2027 list, joining over a dozen other Philippine conglomerates, banks, telcos, real estate developers and consumer giants recognized for employee satisfaction.

In good company

The ranking includes some of the country's biggest employers, including Unilab, Ayala Corp., San Miguel Corp., SM Investments, Jollibee Foods Corp., BDO, Megaworld and PLDT, alongside global giants such as Microsoft, JPMorganChase and Toyota.

The study covered 500 companies across Asia-Pacific using employee satisfaction surveys conducted from 2024 to 2026, focusing on workplace perceptions rather than financial performance.

A different ABS-CBN

For ABS-CBN, the recognition comes as it continues to reinvent itself following the loss of its broadcast franchise in 2020, expanding its reach through digital platforms and partnerships with other television networks.

The company has also made progress in rebuilding its finances, reducing debt and narrowing its recurring net loss to P2.5 billion in 2025 from P8.3 billion in 2020, with a planned P6 billion equity infusion expected to support its next phase of growth.

"This is a new ABS-CBN that we are building, faithful to our mission of public service, but adapting to a different time and circumstance," president and CEO Carlo Katigbak told shareholders in August.

ABS-CBN has proved it can survive, reinvent itself and remain a respected employer. The next test is turning that resilience into lasting profits.
