• Revenue hit P18.12 billion, supported by election ads

• Core revenues fell 5 percent without political spending

• Expenses increased 5 percent while debt dropped

GMA Network posted a modest rise in profit in 2025, with earnings supported by political advertising that helped offset softer demand in its core business.

Net income after tax reached P2.2 billion, up P132 million or 6 percent from a year earlier. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization grew 1 percent to P5.29 billion, indicating relatively stable profitability despite higher costs.

Revenue increased to P18.12 billion, up by more than P500 million, with advertising continuing to account for more than 90 percent of total revenues. Advertising revenues reached P16.57 billion, up 2 percent year on year.

Regular customers cut back on ads

The improvement was largely driven by election-related advertising, which would otherwise have declined 5 percent.

“On a per channel level, GMA 7 continued to lead the pack in terms of total revenues, wrapping up the year with an upswing in sales due to the aforementioned influx of political advocacies and advertisements,” GMA said.

“Without this boost and aggravated by the tepid second half performance, advertising revenue of the main channel settled with a single-digit cutback from regular customers,” it added.

Cost pressures

Total costs and expenses rose 5 percent to P15.54 billion, driven by higher production spending and a 6 percent increase in personnel costs. General and administrative expenses stood at P6.66 billion.

Other income improved to P373 million from P60 million, supported by higher commissions, lower interest expenses, and foreign exchange gains. Short-term debt declined to P1.48 billion from P3.72 billion, helping reduce financing costs.
