Jane Jimenez-Basas, Cignal president and CEO, said Cignal Super, its all-in-one streaming aggregator app, already offers eight services: MAX, VIU, Lionsgate Play, Hallmark+, Curiosity Stream, Fuse+, Pilipinas Live, and Cignal Play.
Developed with India’s Tata Play, Cignal Super is the first and only streaming aggregator in the country, enabling over 70 million Filipinos to access a broad range of entertainment, sports, and news content through a single app.
Cignal is competing for streaming audiences but hopes to consolidate more services, offering greater value to customers by building partnerships rather than fighting for market share. Big names like Netflix may not come on board, but the door remains open to others.
“We will be introducing one or two more [streaming partners] before the end of the year,” Basas told reporters in a recent interview.
“We are talking to a lot. Some are easier to talk to than others,” she added.
The company sees this as a natural evolution of its journey that started with pay-TV in 2009, expanded to IPTV through PLDT’s broadband network, and entered the streaming space in 2019 with Cignal Play.
Cignal Super currently offers two plans: Premium Plus at P799 per month for full access to all streaming services, and Premium at P499 per month for a curated lineup.
