Razon’s wealth climbed sharply from $10.9 billion (P641.68 billion) in 2025, marking a roughly 51 percent increase as global port operator International Container Terminal Services Inc. continued to expand.
Razon also owns Manila Water Company, Inc., one of the largest water concessionaires in the country, casino operator Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, and Apex Mining Co., Inc., apart from a portfolio of unlisted energy assets, including the Malampaya gas field.
Villar retreats from No. 1 spot
The jump also reshuffled the Philippine billionaire rankings after property magnate Manuel Villar Jr., who topped the list last year, saw his fortune retreat from a record $17.2 billion (P1.01 trillion) in 2025 to $3.1 billion (P182.50 billion) in 2026—a drop of about 80 percent.
This also comes as Villar Land Holdings lost 76 percent of its value after regulators flagged concerns over the stock’s valuation.
Ramon Ang, Sy siblings
Conglomerate leaders remained prominent on the Philippine list, led by San Miguel Corp. chair and CEO Ramon S. Ang with an estimated $3.6 billion (P211.93 billion) as the second-richest Filipino.
Members of the SM Group's Sy family also continued to dominate the rankings, including Henry Sy Jr. at $2.5 billion (P147.18 billion), while brothers Hans Sy and Herbert Sy were each estimated at $1.8 billion (P105.97 billion), followed by Harley Sy at $1.7 billion (P100.08 billion), Teresita Sy-Coson at $1.6 billion (P94.19 billion), and Elizabeth Sy at $1.5 billion (P88.31 billion).
Alliance Global Group and Megaworld Corp. founder Andrew Tan also landed in the list with a fortune of $1.7 billion (P100.08 billion).
Retail and consumer tycoons also featured prominently, including Lucio Co and Susan Co, along with fast-food entrepreneur Tony Tan Caktiong.
Rounding out the Philippine names on the global ranking was port and gambling tycoon Eusebio Tanco with an estimated $1 billion (P58.87 billion).
Richest in the world
The rankings are based on the Forbes World’s Billionaires List, which calculates wealth using stock prices and exchange rates as of March 1, 2026.
Globally, the Forbes list is led by Elon Musk with an estimated $839 billion fortune, followed by Larry Page ($257 billion), Sergey Brin ($237 billion), Jeff Bezos ($224 billion), and Mark Zuckerberg ($222 billion).
