Acer has secured its position as the Philippines’ top laptop brand for the 20th consecutive year, underscoring the company’s long-standing dominance in one of Southeast Asia’s most competitive consumer tech markets.

Industry data from the IDC Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker confirms Acer led the country’s laptop market from 2006 through 2025. 

The milestone highlights two decades of consistent leadership driven by broad product offerings, strong retail distribution, and sustained brand engagement.

Why it matters

The Philippine PC market has become increasingly competitive as hybrid work, gaming, and digital education drive demand for more powerful and affordable laptops.

Maintaining the top position for two decades signals strong consumer trust and a durable ecosystem of distribution, service support, and brand loyalty.

“We are incredibly proud to have earned the trust of Filipino consumers for 20 years,” Sue Ong-Lim, managing director of Acer Philippines, said in a press statement. 

“We will continue to serve our consumers in ways we know best to remain the top-of-mind computer brand in the country.”

By the numbers

Acer achieved an all-time high consumer laptop market share of 37.3 percent in 2025, according to Nielsen-GfK data.

The company also led both key segments of the market:

  • 40.5 percent share in consumer gaming laptops
  • 36.1 percent share in consumer non-gaming laptops

These figures reflect Acer’s strategy of offering products across multiple price points while maintaining strong performance specifications.

The big picture

Acer’s sustained leadership is tied to its “accessible premium” positioning. The company maintains a wide retail footprint across the Philippines alongside a large service center network, ensuring accessibility and after-sales support.

Flagship product lines such as the Aspire series continue to target students and everyday users seeking reliable computing performance. Meanwhile, the Nitro series delivers high-powered specifications designed for the rapidly growing gaming market.

Beyond hardware, Acer has invested heavily in esports and youth-oriented marketing initiatives. Events such as the Asia Pacific Predator League and partnerships with pop culture icons including SB19 have helped the brand connect with younger digital consumers.
