Filipinos are increasingly tuning in to ABS-CBN’s YouTube livestream on their TV screens, with watch time hours growing by an average of 85 percent annually since 2020, according to the Lopez-led media giant.
In fact, smart TV viewership has now reached 554.9 million hours, surpassing the 549.6 million hours watched on mobile phones.
Advertisers prefer TV programs because viewers tend to watch for longer periods, remain more engaged, and face fewer distractions compared to mobile phone users.
ABS-CBN said Kapamilya Online Live, which streams its programs in Asia, Australia, Europe, and New Zealand, accounts for 61 percent (539.8 million) of smart TV viewers on YouTube.
Viewers tune in for news on “TV Patrol,” action in “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” drama in “Pamilya Sagrado,” and thrills in “High Street.”
