“We are beyond grateful to reach this remarkable 30th listing anniversary as a public company,” SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim said.
“Guided by the vision of our founder, Mr. Henry Sy, Sr., SM Prime was established to create world-class destinations for shopping, dining, amusement, and entertainment in the Philippines. Over the years, we have continually pushed boundaries as an integrated property developer,” he added.
Founded in 1994 by Henry Sy Sr., SM Prime started with just four malls and has grown into one of Southeast Asia’s top property developers. Its current portfolio spans 91 residential projects, 86 malls, 22 office towers, 10 hotels, and 8 convention centers across 22 cities.
This year, SM Prime plans to open three new malls: SM City Caloocan, SM City J Mall in Cebu, and SM City Laoag in Ilocos Norte.
The company is also redeveloping and expanding landmarks like SM Megamall and upgrading SM Mall of Asia, SM City Cebu, SM City Iloilo, and SM City Bacolod.
In addition, SM Prime will strengthen its leisure homes segment in Tagaytay and Batangas, add new hotels with around 17,000 rooms, and develop mixed-use buildings combining office and retail spaces.
