ABS-CBN Corp. said there are no discussions to hand the company’s management to the group of tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan, responding to recent reports about the broadcaster’s future.

“There are no discussions with Mr. Ramon S. Ang or Mr. Pangilinan on turning over the management of ABS-CBN to MediaQuest or TV5,” the company said in a statement on Monday.

Ang is the chair and CEO of conglomerate San Miguel Corp. while Pangilinan leads various companies under PLDT, which is the parent firm of MediaQuest and TV5.

It said its relationship with Pangilinan and his affiliated companies “is limited to our existing content partnership with TV5.”

ABS-CBN also addressed claims that more than P10 billion had been infused into the company since 2020.

“The report also states that more than P10 billion has been infused into the company since 2020. This is not correct,” it said.

The company said Lopez Inc. has invested less than P1 billion in ABS-CBN to date.
