The big picture
The fiber broadband provider secured the Five Golden Arrow rating for the second consecutive year at the Institute of Corporate Directors’ (ICD) Golden Arrow Awards on Oct. 23, recognizing its governance performance among publicly listed companies in 2025.
The distinction represents the highest corporate governance rating under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).
Why it matters
Strong governance has become increasingly important for telecommunications companies navigating rapid technological change, infrastructure expansion, and growing expectations for corporate accountability.
For Converge, the recognition reflects its evolution from an emerging market challenger into an established industry player.
“Being awarded the top governance rating for two straight years for a young listed company highlights the trajectory of Converge from a market challenger to an industry leader anchored by rigorous governance standards,” said Estela Perlas-Bernabe, former senior associate justice and chair of the Converge board of directors.
By the numbers
Converge has steadily improved its governance standing since becoming publicly listed.
The company initially received One Golden Arrow before advancing to Three Golden Arrows in 2022 and 2023, eventually securing the highest rating in 2024.
This progression demonstrates sustained improvements in governance practices, according to the company release.
What they're saying
Jose P. de Jesus, Converge independent director and immediate past chairman, emphasized that corporate governance remains fundamental to the company's operations.
“At Converge, good governance is the very foundation of how we operate and how we serve,” he said during the ceremony.
“Regardless of how rapidly the technological landscape shifts, our true north remains unchanged. Our mission is to democratize technology by providing access to world-class, quality internet to the unserved and underserved. At Converge, our choice is clear: we use tech for good,” he stressed, pointing out that strong corporate governance is what steers and safeguards this core purpose.
