Insider Spotlight
The company’s push to integrate transparency and accountability into its growth strategy continues to strengthen investor confidence and community impact.
The recognition that underscores a vision
This commitment was recently reaffirmed when the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) awarded SM Prime its third consecutive Five Golden Arrows, a recognition given to publicly listed firms that demonstrate exemplary corporate governance standards under the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).
“This Five Golden Arrow Award is a testament to the collective efforts of everyone at SM Prime. It reflects the company’s strong commitment to nurturing a culture of good governance built on integrity, fairness, accountability and transparency,” J. Carlitos G. Cruz, SM Prime independent director, said in a press release on Nov. 3, 2025.
The ACGS evaluates firms on metrics such as shareholder rights, sustainability, board effectiveness and transparency. Companies that score at least 75 points in the assessment qualify for the Golden Arrow distinction, with five arrows marking the highest level of governance performance.
Embedding sustainability into corporate DNA
Beyond compliance, SM Prime has made sustainability central to its corporate agenda. The revised ACGS framework now places greater weight on sustainability and resilience—areas where SM Prime continues to lead.
“With the revised ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard placing stronger emphasis on sustainability, SM Prime has demonstrated its dedication to promoting social inclusion, environmental stewardship and economic advancement, ensuring sustainable and resilient growth for the communities it serves,” Cruz added.
