Globe stood out with the highest distinction of 5 Golden Arrows, while Ayala Corp., ACEN, Ayala Land, and AyalaLand Logistics Holdings earned 4 each.
Integrated Micro-electronics, Bank of the Philippine Islands, and AREIT received 3 Golden Arrows, with ENEX earning 1 and BPI-AIA securing 3 in the insurance category.
The 2023 awards saw improvements from Ayala Corp., AyalaLand Logistics Holdings, and AREIT compared to their 2022 scores.
“We strive to have corporate governance that our various stakeholders can rely on. Doing well and doing good go hand in hand,” Cezar Consing, president and CEO of Ayala, said in a statement.
The ratings were based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard for publicly listed companies and the Corporate Governance Scorecard for insurance firms.
These scorecards evaluate areas such as shareholder rights, transparency, accountability, and board oversight.
Golden Arrows are intended to raise corporate governance standards and make well-governed companies more attractive to investors.
