Monde Nissin Corp. is drawing stronger profits from its Philippine food brands as its once-struggling Quorn meat-alternative business gains momentum, helping the maker of Lucky Me! noodles sustain its earnings growth.

Core net income attributable to shareholders climbed 16.1 percent to P8.3 billion in the first nine months of 2026, outpacing a 7.3 percent increase in revenue to P67.9 billion.

"We delivered continued growth in our APAC BFB business in the third quarter, supported by pricing and volume growth in biscuits and our strategic growth category. Our domestic business also performed strongly during the quarter, while gross margin improved year-on-year," Monde Nissin CEO Henry Soesanto said in a statement on Wednesday.

Quorn finds its footing

Quorn, Monde Nissin's British meat-alternative business known for its plant-based chicken, burgers and other meat substitutes, recorded P319 million in operating profit in the first nine months of 2026, reversing a P79 million loss a year earlier as restructuring, tighter costs and a more profitable product mix helped restore earnings.

"Our protein business continued to make progress, with revenue growth on a constant-currency basis and strong growth in gross profit. We maintained positive EBIT for the third consecutive quarter and remain ahead of our glide path, reflecting the benefits of our transformation initiatives, disciplined cost management, and the growing success of our positive protein strategy," Soesanto said.

The recovery remains largely driven by improved efficiency, with Quorn's underlying revenue growing a modest 2.2 percent in constant currency.

Local brands drive growth

Monde Nissin's Philippine food business increased sales 6.7 percent to P53.5 billion, supported by higher prices and stronger demand for biscuits and other products.

Gross margins in its broader Asia-Pacific branded food business improved to 35.8 percent from about 34.8 percent, helped by lower coconut oil costs and tighter expense management despite higher packaging and palm oil prices.

The company raised its cash dividend by 8.3 percent to P0.26 per share, payable December 23, after reported nine-month net income increased 20.8 percent to P8.1 billion.
