These new planes, especially the Airbus NEOs, are more fuel-efficient, using 15 percent less fuel and producing less noise, which also means lower carbon emissions, Cebu Pacific said in a statement on Monday.
“Our continuous fleet expansion efforts underscore our commitment to provide safe, affordable, and accessible flights for every Juan,” said Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer.
“As the demand for air travel to continues to rise, we are confident that we will be able to cater to more passengers looking to connect with other people or discover new destinations with Cebu Pacific,” he added.
On July 2, Cebu Pacific signed a major deal with Airbus to buy up to 152 A321neo aircraft for $24 billion (P1.4 trillion), marking the biggest aircraft order in Philippine aviation history.
Cebu Pacific boasts one of the youngest fleets globally, with nine Airbus 330s, 39 Airbus 320s, 22 Airbus 321s, and 15 ATR turboprops, covering the widest network in the Philippines.
