In a statement, the airport regulator said ten unlicensed drone operations were recorded last year, with an additional four incidents reported in the first quarter of 2024.
The MIAA said these unauthorized operations pose severe safety risks, including potential collisions with aircraft.
The agency also emphasized the importance of adhering to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) regulations, which strictly prohibit unlicensed drone activities near airports.
Violations can result in substantial fines and imprisonment, it said.
The authority urged the public to report any suspicious drone activities and reminds drone operators of their shared responsibility in maintaining air travel safety.
