Airports managed by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) remain operational with no reported damage as Typhoon Enteng (international name: Yagi) passes through the country, the aviation regulator said Tuesday morning.

Despite the severe weather conditions, CAAP said in a statement that all airports under its jurisdiction are functioning normally.

In light of the storm, CAAP reiterated its safety protocol under Memorandum Circular 013-2023, signed by Director General Capt. Manuel Antonio Tamayo.

This policy prohibits aircraft with a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 5,700 kg or less from flying when a storm signal number 1 is in effect.

Additionally, all passengers and crew involved in commercial and general aviation flights are required to pass through security clearance procedures within the passenger terminal buildings at CAAP-operated airports.

The CAAP Operations Center reported 38 domestic flight cancellations due to the adverse weather conditions caused by Typhoon Enteng.

Passengers are strongly advised to verify their flight status with their respective airlines and to arrive at the airport at least two hours before their scheduled departure to accommodate the additional security measures and any potential delays.

CAAP said it continues to monitor the situation closely and remains in coordination with airlines and other aviation stakeholders to ensure the safety and security of all passengers.
