This new route aims to boost tourism and provide easier access for over 240,000 Filipino Americans in Washington and Oregon. PAL's service will operate three times weekly (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), enhancing connections for business, leisure, and family visits.
“Our Manila-Seattle-Manila flights give us a valuable opportunity to promote our beautiful island country as a flourishing tourist and business destination for American travellers,” PAL president and chief operating officer Captain Stanley K. Ng said in a statement.
“We also look forward to serving Filipinos who hope to reunite with family members or experience new travel adventures in the vibrant US Pacific Northwest,” he added.
The launch coincides with planned upgrades at the Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport after the privatization contract was awarded to conglomerate San Miguel Corp.
With Seattle becoming PAL’s eighth North American destination, the airline said it will enhance its global network and support increased trade and economic activities between the US and Asia.
