In a statement, the budget carrier said that the modernization of its fleet — with 43% now consisting of advanced New Engine Option (NEO) aircraft — led to a reduction of 161,000 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Additionally, Cebu Pacific saved 16 million kilograms of jet fuel, further cutting carbon emissions by almost 51,000 tonnes through flight optimization and fuel efficiency practices.
“We remain committed to pursuing sustainability in aviation through initiatives that mitigate our environmental impact, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to economic progress,” CEB president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.
Cebu Pacific aims to have an all-NEO fleet by 2028.
These efforts have earned Cebu Pacific recognition as the Most Sustainable Low-Cost Airline in the Philippines by the World Economic Magazine and a gold rating from the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation’s (CAPA) Global Airline Sustainability Benchmarking Report.
