This aggressive enforcement of the “No Registration, No Travel” policy underscores the agency’s commitment to road safety and vehicle compliance, it said in a statement.
LTO chief, Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, emphasized the importance of vehicle registration for roadworthiness and safety.
Based on the LTO data, a total of 6,064 motor vehicles were apprehended from June 1-15 this year— 5,127 of them were motorcycles while the rest were four-wheel vehicles.
During this period, the LTO issued violation tickets to 5,470 vehicles and impounded 981, including motorcycles, passenger jeepneys, and buses.
For the four-wheel vehicles, 34 of them were passenger jeepneys while seven are passenger buses.
This initiative aligns with Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista’s directive to ensure road safety through stringent vehicle checks.
The LTO urged vehicle owners to comply promptly to avoid penalties and ensure road safety.
