As part of the initiative, Grab is using its extensive digital ecosystem — including its superapp, social media channels, and influencer network — to share vital voter education materials. These include election day checklists, reminders on valid IDs, and voting do’s and don’ts, designed to help the electorate cast their ballots with confidence and clarity.
“As a partner in nation-building and progress, Grab Philippines recognizes that an informed and empowered electorate is the cornerstone of a strong democracy,” said Ronald Roda, Grab Philippines country head. “We reaffirm our commitment to supporting the Filipino people in their everyday and democratic journeys alike.”
Tackling transport barriers
On election day, Grab users can input the promo code RIDETOVOTE to get P50 off GrabCar rides from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., while Move It users can use the code BOTONAMI for P20 off motorcycle taxi rides from May 10 to 12. Both are designed to make voting day commutes more affordable and convenient.
Grab will also deploy booking assistance stations at 10 major voting centers in Metro Manila and Cebu, where brand ambassadors will help voters book rides on the Grab or MOVE IT platforms.
Free rides for vulnerable sectors
Comelec’s early voting hours initiative — from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. — prioritizes senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant voters. Grab will provide FREE rides to eligible users during this window through special in-app promo codes.
Comelec Chair George Erwin M. Garcia lauded the initiative, saying, “This collaboration shows how public-private partnerships can remove real barriers to participation, sending a clear message: every Filipino voice matters.” — Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
