Grab and MOVE IT have introduced two new safety features for their driver apps: Fatigue Nudge and Real-Time Overspeeding Alert.

Unveiled during the 'Drive Safe: Takbong Swabe, Safe Palagi!' road safety training program, these features aim to enhance driver and passenger safety.

Fatigue Nudge monitors drivers' active hours, reminding them to rest if they exceed recommended thresholds, while Real-Time Overspeeding Alert leverages GrabMaps to notify drivers when they exceed speed limits, prompting immediate correction.

These initiatives reflect Grab and MOVE IT's commitment to continually elevating platform safety, the company said in a statement.

The training programs, held in Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Cagayan De Oro, also included workshops from road safety experts and authorities.

These collaborations emphasize the shared responsibility for safety among all stakeholders, including passengers, regulators, and drivers. This enhanced focus on safety and security aims to foster a more secure ride-hailing environment, the company said.

Thousands of Cebuano Grab and MOVE IT drivers and riders gathered at the Plaza Independencia to participate in a day-long workshop on road safety with the safety teams of the ride-hailing platforms, CEMEX, and the Cebu City Police. (Photo courtesy of Grab Philippines)
