Chinabank earned Service Innovation of the Year - Philippines for its 30-Minute Instant Credit Card Issuance Program and Banking for Women Initiative of the Year - Philippines for the CBC Velvet Visa Signature.
Chinabank pioneered the Philippines’ first 30-minute credit card issuance, delivering both approval and a physical card on-site in malls and supermarkets. Its Velvet Visa Signature, made from 100 percent recycled plastic, offers luxe perks tailored to empower women.
"We are honored to be recognized for innovations that put our customers first, and inspired to keep creating relevant and practical solutions to meet their evolving needs,” Chinabank consumer banking segment head Aloysius Alday Jr. said.
Landmark infrastructure deals
CBCap secured three corporate and investment banking awards: Debt Deal of the Year, Project Infrastructure Finance Deal of the Year, and Sustainability-Linked Bond of the Year.
"These awards underscore Chinabank Capital's expertise in structuring and executing landmark deals and the strong synergy of the Chinabank Group in delivering the best transactions for our clients," CBCap managing director Juan Paolo Colet said.
CBCap arranged a $400 million term loan facility for Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc., marking its largest foreign currency loan to date.
The transaction also supported a cross-border fundraising campaign for parent firm Universal Entertainment Corporation.
CBCap and Chinabank’s Institutional Banking Segment also facilitated the P80 billion financing for the rehabilitation of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), expected to raise passenger capacity to 62 million annually and modernize the airport's infrastructure.
Additionally, CBCap underwrote Ayala Land Inc.'s P6 billion and P8 billion sustainability-linked corporate bonds—the first such offering in the country.
Proven leadership
The ABF Awards recognize standout banks and initiatives across Asia that are shaping the industry through innovation, digital transformation, and impactful service.
Chinabank previously won Domestic Retail Bank of the Year - Philippines in 2024, while CBCap earned two deal-based awards that same year.
