Insider Spotlight
The bank secured two distinctions at the Citywire ASEAN Awards 2025/26, winning Best Asset Manager and Best Client Services in the Philippines.
Why it matters
The recognitions highlight the growing importance of integrating investment performance with responsive client support as financial institutions compete for long-term wealth management relationships.
Metrobank's trust banking group serves clients pursuing financial goals ranging from wealth accumulation to future financial security, supported by investment research, portfolio management, and client services.
“Clients entrust us with money they have worked hard to build, and with goals that matter to them and their families. Our responsibility is to bring sound investment management and attentive service to every stage of that relationship,” said Ric Pedrosa, Metrobank trust banking group head.
Driving client value
Metrobank is focusing on expanding access to investment solutions while helping clients make informed financial decisions amid evolving economic and market conditions.
“These recognitions encourage us to keep improving how we serve our clients, from broadening access to relevant investment solutions to helping them make informed decisions as their needs and market conditions evolve,” Pedrosa added.
Behind the recognition
The Citywire ASEAN Awards evaluate financial institutions across Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand based on innovation, business growth, and commitment to client service, according to a company release.
Assessment criteria include growth in assets under management and administration, product diversity, distribution capabilities, technology enhancements, and market differentiation.
The bigger picture
Metrobank's latest distinctions add to its growing portfolio of industry recognitions.
The bank ranked first among Philippine banks and securities firms in the Local Currency Bonds and G3 Bonds categories of The Asset Benchmark Research Awards 2026.
Its Metro$ Short Term Bond Fund also earned Best Managed Fund recognition from CFA Society Philippines.
Meanwhile, Euromoney named Metrobank the Philippines' Best Bank for 2026, while the Asian Banker recognized it as the country's Strongest Bank for the fifth consecutive year in 2025.
