At the FAST Logistics Solutions Forum 2026 in Cebu, business leaders and government representatives discussed how integrated transportation, warehousing, and industry collaboration could improve market access across the Philippines.
For businesses operating in an archipelagic country, moving goods between islands presents logistical challenges that can increase costs and constrain expansion.
FAST Logistics Group chief operating officer for transport operations Bobby Lim said third-party logistics providers offer businesses access to established distribution networks without requiring substantial investments in infrastructure.
"An integrated third-party logistics provider like FAST Logistics Group gives growing businesses access to logistics infrastructure, expertise, and distribution networks that would be costly to build and maintain independently," Lim said in a press statement.
Efficient logistics networks
Cebu is also pursuing infrastructure investments to strengthen agricultural distribution and attract business activity.
Cebu Provincial Investment and Promotions Office head Paulo Uy highlighted the proposed Cebu Mega Food Hub in Naga City, which could connect farmers and fishers with supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, and buyers in other provinces.
The facility would support product consolidation, cold storage, processing, packaging, and distribution. Its success, however, would depend on reliable suppliers, committed buyers, adequate utilities, and efficient logistics networks.
Over one million pallet positions
FAST operates warehouses, cold storage facilities, and transportation hubs across Cebu City, Mandaue City, and Consolacion.
Nationwide, its logistics network covers more than two million square meters of warehouse space and over one million pallet positions.
Its transportation operations manage more than 3,100 trucks daily, supported by over 900 trucking partners, 14 shipping lines, and two airline partners.
Improve supply chain efficiency
Growing demand for integrated logistics could create opportunities for Cebu-based trucking companies and fleet operators to participate in nationwide distribution networks.
"Businesses are looking for ways to manage supply chain complexity and reach customers across a geographically dispersed market at a cost that reflects efficiency. These requirements are driving demand for integrated 3PL services," FAST Logistics Group vice president for group strategy Gladys Ceniza said. —Vanessa Hidalgo |Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
