Shopee is positioning its Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) service as a solution that allows sellers to outsource logistics functions while focusing on business growth.
The service manages storage, packing, shipping, and returns processing on behalf of merchants. According to Shopee, this helps sellers devote more time to product development, marketing, and customer engagement rather than day-to-day operational tasks.
Why it matters
For many MSMEs, fulfillment demands increase as sales grow. Davao-based entrepreneur Em Uy-Taclibon, owner of Filipino-Made Cast Iron, said she previously handled packing, shipment coordination, and inventory management on her own while running the business.
“Promoting the products, recording everything in the inventory, it all took up so much time. And when the orders started increasing, I was still the one packing them myself,” Em shares. “My products are heavy, so packing each one takes almost 15 minutes. That’s when I realized I really needed help.”
Shopee Philippines head of commercial Jack Ng said the company designed FBS to help sellers address operational bottlenecks as they scale.
“As sellers grow and start receiving more orders, they need consistent support across packing, shipping, inventory movement, and returns. FBS is built to close that gap, helping sellers build the capacity to scale while giving buyers a reliable shopping experience,” Ng said in a press statement.
The bigger picture
Geography remains a key hurdle for businesses serving customers across the Philippines. Shopee said inventory can be stored in fulfillment facilities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, allowing products to be positioned closer to buyers.
The company reported that 83 percent of FBS buyers are located outside Metro Manila. It added that orders from FBS sellers are typically delivered within three to five working days, compared with seven to 10 working days for non-FBS sellers.
