Now in its 14th edition, the biennial conference brings together global and local leaders in maritime trade, port operations, and logistics to discuss infrastructure development, supply chain innovation, and investment opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region.
Taway will join a panel discussion themed “Transforming the Philippine Port Industry to Global Standards: The Race for Economy of Scale within ASEAN Ports.”
The forum will feature leaders from key industry and government institutions, including Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan Administrator Hussein P. Pangandaman, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority Senior Deputy Administrator Ronnie R. Yambao, Asian Terminals Inc. assistant vice president Reginald Rivera, and Tidalis APAC Managing Director Pieter de Coningh.
The discussion will be moderated by United Portusers Confederation of the Philippines Inc. president and Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. vice president Ma. Flordeliza Leong.
Eastern seaboard opportunity
APECO’s participation in the international conference highlights its plan to position the Casiguran-based economic zone as a logistics and maritime hub along the Philippines’ eastern seaboard.
Located in Aurora province, the ecozone offers direct access to Pacific-facing maritime routes, which could complement existing port hubs in Luzon and support the country’s expanding trade network.
“Our participation in Philippine Ports and Logistics 2026 allows us to present APECO as a viable hub for ports, logistics, and supply chain development on the eastern seaboard,” Taway said.
“With our strategic location facing the Pacific, we are well positioned to support the country’s expanding trade networks and bring new investments to Aurora.”
Investment opportunities
APECO is also promoting several investment opportunities within the zone, including port infrastructure development, integrated logistics facilities, cold storage and fisheries logistics, maritime and transport services, and defense-related manufacturing.
The initiatives aim to strengthen Aurora’s integration into national and regional supply chains while improving the movement of goods across the Asia-Pacific region.
Discussions at the conference on port modernization, freight management, and supply chain optimization are expected to help guide APECO’s ongoing plans to develop port and logistics infrastructure in Casiguran.
The projects are designed to support both industrial growth and the development of a modern logistics ecosystem that could benefit local industries and communities in Aurora and nearby regions. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
