  • Six-hectare industrial complex targets Mindanao logistics demand
  • Strategic location improves cargo movement across key gateways
  • Project expected to support manufacturing, exports, and distribution

Alsons Development and Investment Corp. (Alsons Dev) and DoubleDragon Properties Corp. have begun construction of CentralHub Davao, marking the first CentralHub industrial warehouse complex in Mindanao as logistics demand across the Philippines continues to expand.

The project signals growing investor confidence in Mindanao’s supply chain potential and the broader Philippine logistics sector, which is seeing increased demand from e-commerce, manufacturing, and food distribution firms seeking modern storage and distribution facilities.

What occurred

Alsons Dev, in partnership with DoubleDragon through its industrial leasing subsidiary CentralHub Industrial Centers Inc., broke ground on the facility on March 5, 2026 in Barangay Lasang, Davao City.

The development will occupy a 6.2-hectare property and is designed as a modern industrial warehouse complex that will support the region’s growing logistics and distribution needs.

Once completed, CentralHub Davao will offer around 40,392 square meters of leasable space for warehousing, cold storage, commissaries, light manufacturing, and other industrial support services.

Strategic location

The project sits along the Pan-Philippine Highway near the Lasang Public Market, providing direct access to key transport gateways such as Sasa Port, Davao International Container Terminal Inc., and Francisco Bangoy International Airport.

The location is expected to allow faster cargo movement across Mindanao and improve supply chain efficiency for companies operating in southern Philippines.

What they’re saying

Alsons Dev president and CEO Miguel A. Dominguez said in a statement the project demonstrates the companies’ shared push to strengthen regional infrastructure.

“CentralHub Davao reflects the shared commitment of Alsons Dev and DoubleDragon to delivering infrastructure that supports economic growth in Mindanao.”

The project builds on earlier collaboration between the two companies, including the development of CityMall Northtown within Alsons Dev’s Northtown township in Cabantian.

Economic impact

With an estimated project value of P1.2 billion, CentralHub Davao aims to address the rising demand for modern logistics facilities in Mindanao while supporting manufacturing, export, and distribution activities.

Davao City Vice Mayor Rodrigo S. Duterte II said the project is expected to generate jobs and enhance operational efficiency for businesses while strengthening the city’s role as a regional economic hub.

The bottom line

As logistics demand grows nationwide, developments such as CentralHub Davao highlight how strategically located industrial hubs can help unlock regional trade, streamline supply chains, and support Mindanao’s expanding role in the Philippine economy. —Ramon C. Nocon/Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
