That momentum was on full display at the Manila Gin Festival 2026, where GSMI’s premium portfolio emerged as the biggest winner during the Feb. 20-21 event at the BGC High Street Amphitheater.
1834 Premium Distilled Gin took the festival’s top recognition, “Most Popular Gin,” while Archangel Reserve Premium Dry Gin was named 1st runner-up in the same category.
Now on its fourth year, the country’s largest celebration of gin culture gathered local and international brands, industry personalities and thousands of festivalgoers, but GSMI’s premium lineup stood out not only in the competition but also in brand experience.

In the Premium Category for Best Booth, Archangel earned 1st runner-up, while 1834 Premium Distilled Gin received 2nd runner-up, extending the visibility of both brands beyond the judging table.
“This is a sweet victory for all of us,” Ron Molina, GSMI AVP for marketing, said in a company statement.
“More than awards, this represents acceptance, a validation of our consistent winning streak and our relentless pursuit of quality. These recognitions affirm that Filipino gin can consistently meet world-class standards while remaining true to its craftsmanship and heritage.”
By the numbers
The win marks a steady climb for 1834, which placed 1st runner-up in 2025, 2nd place in 2023 and 3rd place in 2024 before finally securing the top spot this year.
“We are proud of our products, and we want more people to discover what Filipino craftsmanship can offer,” said Josephine Caldo, group product manager for white spirits.
“Every bottle represents careful innovation and dedication, and moments like this inspire us to keep pushing the category forward.”
The big picture
With cocktail-led activations, premium cues and rising consumer recognition, GSMI is using its festival success to reinforce a broader message: Filipino premium spirits are no longer just competing — they are helping define the category. — Ramon C. Nocon | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
