The development will introduce the first global hotel brand to the Island Garden City of Samal.
Early market signal
The traction gives the Mindanao-based developer an early market signal that investors see opportunities beyond the country’s traditional property centers. That strategy gained national validation at the 14th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards 2026 on Aug. 20, where Damosa Land collected multiple honors.
Powerful validation for Mindanao real estate
TRYP by Wyndham Samal won Best Investment Condo Development and Best Beachfront Condotel Architectural Design. Damosa Land also secured Best Boutique Developer for a second consecutive year and the third time since 2020.
“Being recognized for these prestigious awards is a powerful validation that Mindanao is leading the way in real estate innovation. Damosa Land remains steadfast in its mission to deliver world-class yet mindful projects that drive investment potential and create lasting value for generations to come," DLI president Ricardo Floirendo Lagdameo said in a press statement.
SEC-RENT framework
The Samal project broke ground in January and became the first development approved under the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Securing and Expanding Capital in Real Estate Non-Traditional Securities, or SEC-RENT, framework.
Valid for 20 years from the start of operations, the SEC-RENT certificates will cover 94 standard condotel units priced at P50,000 each, four deluxe units worth P75,000 each, and two suite units priced at P100,000 each. All units will be enrolled under a mandatory rental pool program, which allows them to be marketed, rented, and managed as hotel accommodations for guests, while ownership remains with the unit buyers.
Ecosystem approach
Damosa Land is pursuing what it calls an ecosystem approach across Mindanao. Its portfolio spans the Agriya agritourism township, Anflo Industrial Estate, Bridgeport, Damosa IT Park and residential developments including Kahi Estates, Ameria and Agriya Gardens.
“Our goal has always been to create ecosystems in every project that we build—places where people can live, work, invest, do business, and build their futures,” Lagdameo said.
“We want the value of our developments to extend beyond their boundaries and benefit not only the communities within them, but also the neighboring communities around them. For us, that is what responsible development means: creating places that generate opportunities, strengthen communities, and contribute to the long-term growth of Mindanao,” he added.
