Insider Spotlight
The recognition
Skyro's customer-focused innovation earned the Philippines Consumer Service Innovation of the Year – Financial Technology award at the Asian Innovation Excellence Awards 2026, held October 20 in Singapore.
Why it matters
Unlike conventional lending arrangements that often require customer service intervention, Skyro Flexi enables borrowers to modify payment amounts or due dates directly through the company's mobile application.
The automated, self-service feature eliminates paperwork, manual verification, and the need to explain financial difficulties.
By the numbers
Around 40 percent of Skyro's customer base has activated Flexi, with 60 percent of those customers using the service to adjust repayment terms.
Meanwhile, 87 percent of customer satisfaction surveys and app reviews mentioning Flexi expressed positive sentiment.
Driving innovation
Skyro head of product Dmitriy Vavulidi said in a statement the service reflects the company's commitment to making lending more responsive.
“When we developed Skyro Flexi, we wanted to challenge the idea that customers should always have to follow a fixed repayment schedule, even when their circumstances change,” said Dmitriy. “Behind these features is a lot of product and technology work. But for us, the real innovation is making that flexibility simple, accessible, and useful for customers.”
The bigger picture
Skyro has released more than 3 million loans and attracted over 7 million registered mobile app users, highlighting its expanding presence in Philippine consumer finance.
What they're saying: Skyro COO Ira Franco emphasized the company's customer-first philosophy.
“At Skyro, we've always believed that financial services should adapt to people's lives, not the other way around,” Franco said. “It's not just about introducing new technology or features. It's about understanding what our customers need and finding practical ways to make their financial experiences better.”
