Meaningful career paths

Companies are increasingly competing not only on compensation but on whether employees can see meaningful career paths without leaving the organization.

Globe says its programs allow employees, known internally as Ka-Globe, to explore opportunities across the company and pursue different career directions.

‘Real measure of progress’

“These awards are meaningful because they recognize the work our teams are doing to make the employee experience better. But the real measure of our progress is whether our people feel supported, see opportunities ahead of them and know they can continue to grow here,” Globe chief human resource officer Renato “Ato” Jiao said in a press statement.

Other winners

Globe received Bronze at the HR Excellence Awards for Excellence in Addressing Urban Workforce Challenges and Excellence in Employee Advocacy and Brand Ambassadors.

At the Stevie Awards, JL Benedict Gutierrez, senior expert for EVP and Employer Branding, won Gold for Internal Communications Professional of the Year. Paul Constantino, manager for HR tech and process, took the Gold for Human Resources Professional of the Year, while Globe received Bronze for Achievement in Career Mobility.

Employer-brand strategy

Employee advocacy is also becoming part of Globe’s employer-brand strategy, with workers encouraged to share their experiences and give prospective talent a clearer view of its culture.

“We will keep listening to Ka-Globe and improving the way we support them at different points in their careers. There is still a lot of work to do, and that pushes us to keep building a workplace where our people can grow, contribute and do their best to build value everyday,” Jiao added. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S.
