ABS-CBN Corp. has secured its seventh Golden Arrow Award for corporate governance, earning fresh recognition for its management and transparency practices as it continues rebuilding its business beyond traditional broadcasting.

The Lopez-led media company was recognized by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) based on its performance in the 2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard and Corporate Governance Scorecard assessments.

The award recognizes companies that score at least 75 points and demonstrate compliance with Philippine corporate governance standards and internationally recommended practices.

What the award measures

The assessment examines how companies protect shareholder rights, treat investors fairly, disclose information and hold their boards and management accountable.

It also evaluates sustainability, resilience and relationships with stakeholders, areas that have become increasingly important to investors assessing corporate risks.

For ABS-CBN, the recognition comes as the company continues adjusting its business model following the loss of its broadcast franchise in 2020.

Seventh recognition

ABS-CBN chief risk management officer and chief compliance officer Mike Villanueva accepted the award alongside treasury and investor relations executives Cindy Estojero, Melanie Teodoro and Marvin Payumo.

The ICD said the scorecard is intended to strengthen corporate governance standards and make Philippine-listed companies more attractive to investors.
