During a joint site inspection on July 4, BCDA President and CEO Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang, Tarlac Governor Christian Tell A. Yap, Vice Governor Lita Aquino, and other key officials assessed the proposed construction area for new entry and exit ramps. These additions will complete the interchange and provide direct access to and from the northern corridor, which the current setup does not serve.
“The Luisita Interchange expansion is a vital step toward unlocking Tarlac’s full economic potential,” said Bingcang. “By improving regional mobility and access to key industrial zones and new townships, we are not only easing travel for motorists but also paving the way for greater investments, jobs, and inclusive growth in Central Luzon.”
The planned expansion aims to decongest MacArthur Highway and surrounding roads in Tarlac while improving access to major industrial and township developments such as Luisita Industrial Park, Central Techno Park, Cresendo Estates, and TARI Estate.
The infrastructure upgrade will reinforce SCTEX’s role as a vital transport corridor across Luzon. It also aligns with the government’s vision for improved connectivity along the Luzon Economic Corridor, intended to position the region as a key manufacturing and electronics hub.
The Luisita Interchange expansion is expected to drive more economic activity, improve logistics, and create employment opportunities for local communities in Tarlac and nearby provinces. —Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
