Gokongwei-led budget carrier Cebu Pacific is making a comeback in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for the first time in 15 years, announcing the relaunch of trips via Manila on Aug. 16 this year.
Cebu Pacific briefly served the route between 2008 and 2009 before discontinuing trips.
With this latest development, the airline will serve southern Taiwan’s largest city thrice weekly: every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
“We are very excited to launch direct flights to the wonderful city of Kaohsiung. With the growing interest among passengers to travel to new destinations, we hope that this launch will encourage them to add another destination to their itinerary or cross off one they’ve been looking to visit,” Xander Lao, Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer, said in a statement.
Second after Taipei
Kaohsiung will be Cebu Pacific’s second destination in Taiwan, offering passengers more affordable travel options.
It also operates twice-daily flights to Taipei, Taiwan’s capital and economic center.
Piso sale
Cebu Pacific also announced its signature seat sale to celebrate the relaunch.
From May 30 to June 13, travelers may book flights to Kaohsiung for as low as P1 one-way base fare exclusive of fees and surcharges. The travel period is from August 16 to October 25, 2024.
