Ex-transport chief Bautista joins SMC Food board; Monica Ang takes bigger role

San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc., the maker of San Miguel beer and Purefoods hotdogs, moved quickly to fill a board vacancy and reinforce its governance line-up.

At a special board meeting on Feb. 6, 2026, directors elected Jaime J. Bautista as independent director to complete the unexpired term of Ferdinand K. Constantino.

Constantino had earlier resigned as director and treasurer effective Jan. 31, 2026.

Former transport secretary Jaime J. Bautista joins the San Miguel Food and Beverage board as Monica L. Ang takes on a bigger role as treasurer alongside her CFO and chief risk officer posts.

Bautista brings heavyweight public and corporate credentials, including a recent stint as secretary of transportation (2022–2025) and two prior terms as president and chief operating officer of Philippine Airlines.

The board also named Monica L. Ang, the daughter of tycoon and SMC chair and CEO Ramon S. Ang, as treasurer, adding the role to her existing posts as chief finance officer and chief risk officer.

Separately, directors approved a regular cash dividend of P0.50 per common share, payable March 6 to shareholders of record as of Feb. 20.

The moves tighten leadership continuity while signaling a steady dividend policy and stronger oversight for investors.
