A 19-year veteran of the organization, Jackson brings extensive international experience to Manila, having previously run JTI’s operations in Tanzania and Canada, and most recently serving as Vice President of Marketing & Sales for South Asia.
The leadership transition comes as the maker of Winston, Camel, and local heavyweight Mighty pushes to aggressively expand its next-generation products, including Nordic Spirit nicotine pouches and Ploom Aura heated tobacco.
Management’s view
“The Philippines is an important market for JTI, with talented people, strong partnerships, and significant opportunities ahead,” Jackson said in a statement on Friday. “My focus is on building on these strengths and continuing to grow the business responsibly and sustainably.”
Beyond product expansion, Jackson faces the immediate industry-wide challenge of rampant cigarette smuggling.
“Illicit trade remains a serious challenge that no single sector can address alone," Jackson noted. "Continued collaboration between government and industry will be critical to protecting government revenues and maintaining a fair and competitive market.”
