Robinsons Land Corp. has tapped investment and property executive David Elias Y. San Pedro as its newest independent director, succeeding veteran businessman and Philippine Stock Exchange chair Jose T. Pardo.

The Gokongwei Group's property arm announced the appointment effective November 6, days after Pardo stepped down for personal reasons following his October 31 resignation.

San Pedro brings experience in property investments, healthcare ventures and corporate strategy, including involvement in major investment decisions at Ayala Land.

New face on the board

His credentials include membership in Ayala Land's investment committee and a board seat at Ayala Land China Investment Co., giving him exposure to property investments beyond the Philippines.

He is also vice chairman of Mercado General Hospital Inc., an Ayala Land healthcare joint venture, and EyeSight Reliance JVCo, a venture with Asian Eye.

A Singapore citizen and Philippine permanent resident, San Pedro earned his MBA with academic distinction from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business after completing his business management degree at Ateneo de Manila University.

His appointment comes as Robinsons Land pursues its Vision 5-25-50 strategy, an ambitious five-year expansion plan aimed at nearly doubling annual net income to P25 billion by 2030.
