Accounting and advisory firm Reyes Tacandong & Co. will tackle these issues at its corporate governance forum, Built to Last: Creating Sustainable Value, on November 25 at Makati Diamond Residences.
The event will bring together regulators and business executives to examine how companies can move beyond compliance and make sustainability part of their investment and growth strategies.
From compliance to competitive advantage
Among the speakers is Rachel Esther J. Gumtang-Remalante, director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Corporate Governance and Finance Department.
She will be joined by Kristin Koleen D. Palaganas, vice president for sustainability at SM Investments Corp., and Jed S. Llanes, executive director for sustainability and strategic governance services at Reyes Tacandong.
The program covers regulatory developments, business resilience and ways companies can turn sustainability compliance into an advantage when raising capital.
The forum, scheduled from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., is accredited by the SEC for directors and key officers, with continuing professional development credits also available for accountants, subject to approval.
