Incoming head of Ayala Land Estates Group

Ayala Land Inc. is giving Jaime Z. Urquijo a much bigger role only eight months after he took charge of its Urban Estates business.

Starting Jan. 1, 2027, Urquijo will lead the Ayala Land estates group, which will combine the company’s Metro Manila and regional estates.

The change follows the retirement of regional estates head Christopher B. Maglanoc at the end of December.

Maglanoc is listed in Ayala Land’s annual report as being in his mid-50s, although the company gave no other details about his retirement.

Three members of the Zobel family

Urquijo joined Ayala Land in April after serving as Ayala Corp.’s chief sustainability and risk officer.

The son of Beatriz Zobel de Ayala initially took charge of Metro Manila estates and joined Ayala Land’s management and investment committees.

He works alongside his sister Paloma Urquijo, creative director of Ayala Land Hospitality, and cousin Mariana Zobel de Ayala, senior vice president and head of leasing and hospitality.
