This move, meant to support smaller businesses and communities, allows 2GO vessels to accommodate last-minute Less than Container Load (LCL) shipments up to 18 hours before departure, the SM Group-controlled firm said in a statement.
"We are excited to expand our shipside services to Davao and General Santos, enhancing our capability to support the local economy and meet the needs of our customers," 2GO forwarding business unit head Faye Alonzo.
She said these new hubs will enable small businesses in Davao, GenSan, and neighboring municipalities to ship their products widely, ensuring that fresh produce and other time-sensitive goods — vegetables, fruits, and other fresh produce — reach their destinations swiftly and efficiently.
The LCL service is ideal for urgent shipments, reducing costs and improving inventory management for small and medium enterprises.
2GO said its extensive shipping routes from Manila to Davao and General Santos create a reliable logistics network, facilitating growth and expansion for businesses in Mindanao.
The recent launch event showcased the efficiency of this service with a trial shipment of tomatoes from Davao to Iloilo.
