Allianz PNB Life employees launched a voluntary fundraising initiative, with the insurer matching their contributions to generate P350,000 for affected communities.
The funding will support PDRF’s Child and Maternal Support Program in selected communities across Sarangani Province and General Santos City.
Assistance will prioritize children under five, lactating mothers, and newborns through emergency nutrition support, newborn care packages, and hygiene and sanitation kits.
Grassroots fundraising
Recovery remains challenging for families managing disrupted livelihoods while caring for vulnerable household members.
“The earthquake may no longer be in the headlines every day, but we know that many families are still rebuilding their lives. We wanted to do our part, however small, to help them get back on their feet and move forward,” Allianz IT Portfolio and Business Relationship manager Ryanne Balintec said in a press statement.
Employee participation demonstrates how corporate matching programs can expand grassroots fundraising into organized community assistance.
PDRF will facilitate the distribution of essential supplies in coordination with local government units and communities, connecting private-sector resources with recovery needs.
What they're saying
Allianz PNB Life chief marketing officer Rozanne Magararu emphasized the company's commitment beyond insurance services.
“At Allianz, creating security and peace of mind goes beyond the protection we provide through our products. It is also about standing with communities during difficult moments and helping families regain a sense of stability as they recover and rebuild,” Magararu said.
Beyond financial protection
Allianz PNB Life, established in 2016 through a joint venture between Allianz Group and Philippine National Bank, has positioned community resilience among its sustainability priorities.
Its initiatives also support college-aged youth and single mothers, extending its social commitments beyond financial protection. —Vanessa Hidalgo | Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
