"My hope is that this will avoid distracting the organization from its mission of instilling management excellence in the Philippines."

12 December 2024

Mr.   Jose Rene D. Almendras, MAP President

Management Association of the Philippines

Unit 608, Ayala Tower One, Ayala TriangleAyala Avenue, Makati, Metro Manila

Dear Rene,

This is to inform you of my decision to not assume the position of MAP president for 2025. Recently, MAP has received various communications expressing concerns about my election. These letters allude to a complaint affidavit filed by my former wife (which she subsequently withdrew) and allegations she has raised in an ongoing annulment case between us.

Conspicuously missing in these narratives is my side of the story. However, I acknowledge the distress these allegations have caused among some people within and outside of MAP. With this and after careful reflection, I made my decision. My hope is that this will avoid distracting the organization from its mission of instilling management excellence in the Philippines.

I want to express my gratitude to the MAP 2025 board members for electing me as president, thereby recognizing my contributions to MAP. My sincerest thanks to you, Rene, for your leadership of the 2024 board. Rest assured, I remain committed to serving MAP in its great work, as I have done for nearly two decades.

Sincerely,

Noel P.  Bonoan (signed)
