The village association is doing a comprehensive review and has identified potential weak spots along its perimeter wall facing the busy EDSA highway.
“As part of this effort, we are installing additional surveillance cameras along the EDSA wall, equipped with alert systems that notify security if any unauthorized crossing is detected,” a statement showed.
A security incident report obtained by InsiderPH indicated that the intruder entered a house on Paraiso Street around 9:00 p.m. on May 22.
This prompted a nearby staff member to alert village security, triggering a nearly two-hour rooftop chase that ended with the lone male attacker being shot by security and hauled off to a hospital for treatment.
According to the DVA, “no home was robbed, and no residents were tied up or harmed during the incident”, countering rumors that were circulating after the event.
“There is no pattern of rampant theft or break-ins within the village,” it added.
DVA also closed with a hopeful reminder.
“Please be assured that DVA remains committed to maintaining the safety and security of the village and its residents. We continue to stay vigilant and proactive in addressing any potential threats.”
And with a touch of wishful thinking.
“We also urge residents to refrain from spreading unverified information or rumors, which may cause unnecessary panic or confusion.”
