Bea Alonzo–Vincent Co wedding clue hid in plain sight during church mass

The country’s most closely watched society and celebrity union in recent memory surfaced not through a grand announcement but through a barely noticed church notice.

Marriage banns naming Puregold heir Ferdinand Vincent Pe Co and Phylbert Angelli Escalante Ranollo, the real name of superstar Bea Alonzo, briefly appeared during a livestreamed mass at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Paco, Manila on March 8, 2026.

The notice was part of the church’s standard announcements during the conclusion of mass.

A clip of the livestream was later posted online but drew minimal engagement, gathering only around 20 likes, before it was noticed by Manila Bulletin and InsiderPH

InsiderPH was also the the first to break news in 2025 that the billionaire Puregold heir was dating the acclaimed actress.

The announcement may have gone largely unnoticed at first because these listed the bride under her legal name, rather than the widely recognized screen name of Bea Alonzo, one of the most famous artists of her generation.

St. Peter the Apostle Parish was established in the 1950s to serve the growing flock of Filipino-Chinese churchgoers.

Co, who belongs to one of the richest clans in the Philippines, has stayed out of the spotlight despite the family’s expansive business footprint.

He is the president of Puregold Price Club, one of the country’s largest supermarket chains, which includes the S&R Shopping membership outlets.

His family also owns the listed conglomerate Cosco Capital, which owns Puregold, liquor importer The Keepers Holdings, power plants, commercial spaces for lease, and Office Warehouse.
