Those were some of the warnings issued by a condominium tower in Makati’s Legaspi Village after one of its residents was robbed at gunpoint shortly after stepping outside a few days ago.
The crime happened at around 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 22 along Perea Street near the corner of Paseo de Roxas. Three armed men riding two motorcycles cornered the resident moments after the victim had left the Mayfair Mansion building.
Residents are now on alert after the brazen attack hit the usually quiet and upscale Makati enclave, surrounded by parks, high-end shopping malls and neighborhood restaurants.
The incident has been reported to the Makati police and the Makati Central Estate Association.
Building management is also coordinating with barangay officials and law enforcement to boost security patrols in the area.
Makati City remains generally safe, but these incidents can strike anywhere. It’s important to stay alert at all times, even during those late-night walks.
